主要开展西南高原山地植物种质资源保护与系统进化领域的研究工作。基于种群生态学、保护遗传学、保护策略制定与种群回归自然等开展西南特有濒危植物(含极小种群野生植物)的种质保护与种群恢复中的关键科学问题研究;采用分子系统学、比较形态学及多组学相结合的方法,开展西南高山峡谷代表性类群(如高山杜鹃)在全球变化背景下的响应过程、系统演化与适应机制等研究。
