A Time-Honored University

Yunnan University is located in Kunming — the Spring City with an amiable climate. Built on the site of Yunnan Gongyuan (imperial examination hall) in the Ming and Qing dynasties, occupying a sloping ridge and keeping an open view to Green Lake, the campus has been the prior target for talents with its rich cultural heritage for five centuries.

Initially established in 1453 and then transplanted to the current location in 1499, Yunnan Gongyuan, a symbol of flourishing cultural inheritance, had been serving for cultivating talents and selecting virtuous officials.
